Old Shoes
While helping my parents move, I accidentally found a box filled with my old shoes. My mother had kept them in her basement for years. This nostalgic encounter made me question the value of objects from the past. Despite being stored in a basement, often unaccesible and out of sight, they maintain precious to us.
Having lived in America, Germany, and England, every move unwillingly becomes an eradication of objects including those that are close to me. I leave them behind, I sell them, donate them, dump them, or pass them on.
